What qualifications do employers value at hiring time? After you get that first job, how can you visualize a work life future with increased earnings and opportunity? The answers to these two questions come together as part of a study done in Central Texas to better inform and prepare students and new labor force entrants about career potential. This session presents the findings of that study, including sample skill-based career progressions and employer insights on the value of industry certifications. Explore how CTE program staff can take advantage of these findings to provide useful career guidance and articulated CTE course planning.
